So much friendlier than Canberra Sand and Gravel. The site is spotless. Service is efficient. My new go to for gravel for our rural driveway and soils.

I came in around lunchtime today to request to buy some composted pine bark. Despite me mentioning that I came specifically from Sydney on behalf of a Clivia specialist, I was told abruptly "our minimum order is 1/4 of a scoop/tonne". I immediately offered to pay for that quantity, but only take the smaller amount. I was confronted with "no hand loading" - which I totally understand due to OH&S reasons. At this point, I asked if they sell a smaller quantity. The lady said "yes, but we are out of them at the moment" - there was a long pause, while I'm looking at the tonnes of the stuff loaded up in the yard! There was no acknowledgement that I came all the way from Sydney for this special product, no offer for me to wait for them to load a smaller bag for me...essentially, the lady remained seated on her chair with a complete unwillingness to help me. I don't write negative reviews as a rule, but I was extremely disappointed with the zero service offered. To be honest, I walked away speechless.

Ordered 5 cubic metres of "Super Soil" for use under turf and it was different to advertised when delivered. Advertised as a suitable top soil composed of sandy loam. The soil I received was heavily clayed with very little sandy loam. Not suitable for turf and only useful as a backfill material and similar. Would not recommend.

Do not buy from Corkhill Bros - unless you want your load delivered to a random stranger’s house! Ordered some mulch, but they dumped it at someone else’s place up the road. We rang to ask if that’s our load: Yep that’s ours! Can you deliver it to our place? No! Can we have any help at all? Nope, bye! We paid a lot of money to Corkhill to do one simple thing: move a load of mulch from their yard to ours, and they totally failed to deliver. Do yourself a favour and go to Canberra Sand and Gravel instead.

Had a truck load of tan bark delivered today. The staff are very friendly and helpful and their prices are competitive. They rang when they said they would prior to delivery and delivered on time. I'm very happy with the service and product.
