TL:DR not an actual recycler unless your a multi-million dollar company or larger. - need to be a truck size operator to transact with them.

Still waiting for them to " Have a small transaction area. What this means is the public maybe able to tip and small commercial operators. " It was a good idea in 2021 as discussed with Jacob Wilson the Chief Commercial Officer.... Sadly Nugrow only allows large dump trucks and other "Major" commercial operators to dump waste which means that the level of risk of contamination or degradation of the inbound product is higher as a larger volume in-transit is often a source of compression and liquefaction in green waste.

The outbound product is somewhat cost effective but again you can't actually buy it directly unless you want a full pallet or a truck full. Once again an issue of needing to work in a large commercial quantity this again means that when buying this product from a downstream suppler you may have issues with quality that have nothing to do with the manufacturer themselves for example bags that are clearly damaged/undersized being the only ones available.

Living in close proximity to NuGrow in Swanbank has become an olfactory nightmare for residents, as the pervasive odour emitted from the facility raises serious concerns about the company's environmental impact and the well-being of those in the surrounding area.

NuGrow was slapped with more than $45,000 in fines for breaching the Environmental Protection Act at its industrial site in Swanbank. The Department of Environment and Science issued three infringement notices to NuGrow on October 30. While the fines, totaling $15,480 for each infringement notice, do not specifically relate to odour, they address contraventions of environmental authority conditions and unauthorized activities. This enforcement action follows a substantial increase in compliance activity by the Department of Environment and Science in the Swanbank area since June 2023, prompted by a surge in odour complaints.

The landfill and composting area operated by NuGrow has been a focal point of thousands of complaints from residents reporting foul odours and health concerns. Despite these concerns, NuGrow's response to the odour issue has been lackluster, with minimal communication and a palpable sense of frustration among residents who feel neglected and unheard.

Moreover, the fines imposed on NuGrow, while not directly related to odour, underscore the company's failure to comply with environmental regulations, adding to the concerns about its environmental responsibility. Some homes are now approximately 1km from dump sites operated by NuGrow, and residents continue to call for tighter environmental controls over such companies.

Adding to the litany of issues, there are growing suspicions that NuGrow is the likely source of a fly infestation around Redbank Plains. This additional concern further underscores the company's impact on the local environment and quality of life for residents. It's alarming that NuGrow's operations not only contribute to foul odours but also potentially facilitate the spread of pests, creating an even more significant public health risk.

The alarming reality that NuGrow is profiting off ignoring the public's word is a cause for further concern. Despite the persistent complaints from the community and the fines imposed by authorities, NuGrow has not shown a genuine commitment to addressing the issues at hand. The company's actions, or lack thereof, suggest a prioritization of profit over the well-being and concerns of the residents.

In conclusion, NuGrow's environmental impact in Swanbank, as highlighted by the recent fines, ongoing odour issues, and the suspected link to a fly infestation, raises serious questions about the company's commitment to community well-being and environmental responsibility. The persistent stench and potential pest problems have far-reaching consequences, from immediate discomfort to potential long-term health effects and economic ramifications for the community. NuGrow must urgently address these multifaceted issues, engage with the community, and implement effective measures to eliminate or significantly reduce the odorous impact of its operations and potential contributions to pest problems. Until then, it remains challenging to view NuGrow as a responsible corporate citizen in Swanbank, as its actions suggest a troubling prioritization of profits over the concerns and well-being of the public it serves.

The smell from this place is affecting the whole of Ripley, they don’t want to do anything about the fact that this is affecting most of the residents that live in Ipswich.

We have 20-30 flies in our house daily and our house is spotless they are breeding flies and it’s starting to become a problem.

The smell that this place inflicts on the surrounding areas is disgusting! There are days you can't sit in your own backyard because on the stink, let alone open your windows to let fresh air in. It seems this company is only interested in making as much money as possible. Absolutely no thought to peoples well being. Many people in the communities surrounding this place are having multiple health problems because of the stench coming from here. Hopefully it will be shut down soon, I feel for the workers here. I can't imagine what they have to put up with on a day to day basis!
