Malak Marketplace is a cozy, family-friendly market open Saturday evenings during the dry season.
It features food stalls with diverse options, local produce, handcrafts, and live music.
It has a friendly atmosphere with plenty of seating and parking.
Some find it expensive, and selection can vary from year to year, which affects the overall atmosphere.

It is mostly take away food but they do have interesting food selection that are not available in any other markets. Worth visiting if you are in the area/ if you have a car visiting from cbd/ Palmerston.
The food varies alot every year, some years are very happening, some years are quite. It's the newest market in Darwin, only here from before covid, closed during covid and it's back now. It's not bad this year (2024).
Some vegs and fruit but don't expect much, if you are after veg and fruit best to go to the rapid creek market on Sat & Sunday morning.
They have live music. It's cozy, intimate, not too big, not too small, essentially a good alternative to mindil market for locals, and a good alternative for Palmerston market (other markets in Darwin are in the morning). Plenty of place to sit and eat, easy parking.
It can be quite political when many political candidates are there to get people's vote but you can always ignore them.

A cosy little market that operates Saturday nights during the dry season. Nice range of great food. Nice craft stalls. A great place to take the family for a casual meal. Plenty of seating. Friendly atmosphere.

Great weekend vibe, welcoming and safe for families. Often there are free activities available for kids. Good selection of food stalls, local produce, health and wellness and local handcraft items. Live music is excellent to sit back and relax to while under the famous red umbrellas watching the sun set.

Fantastic and unique food stalls, in fact, some of the best not just in the Northern Territory, but in Australia. Great set up and great music performers every single time. Great space to bring kids as well as they have a space for kids to play. I would rate it even higher if I could. In one word, brilliant. It encapsulates the very best of the tropical part of Australia.
