Dandenong Ranges Botanic Garden is a free, well-maintained garden with diverse plants, including rhododendrons, azaleas, and native flora.
It features scenic views, picnic areas, walking paths (some with handrails), a gift shop, and a cafe.
Reviews highlight the Chelsea Australian Garden, but some note confusing signs and limited parking, especially on weekends, which can be a significant issue for visitors to this otherwise well-maintained garden.

First time here. Well worth a visit. And it is free!!! The park is superbly landscaped. We really enjoyed our walk through this splendid park. Well done.

Fabulous place and lake was gorgeous. But signs are confusing. Sign to lake is pointed in wrong direction and it would good if the map had a ‘you are here’ mark. As someone with a walking disability it is important to have correct signs so it minimises walking. I hope you can make adjustments to make it easier to navigate. Photo indicates lake to left but it is really to the right.

It’s a beautiful place, and I like that they’re adding new things. My only very minor gripe is the parking situation. There doesn’t seem to be enough spots.

Loved these gardens, would be even more spectacular when the rhododendrons are flowering. The new Australian Native garden is a must see! And free to visit!

It was absolutely perfect weather today and gardens are amazing. I took my time and strolled around, racking up about 4kms of walking. Definitely worth seeing and spending time here.
