Beautiful place for a relaxing walk around or picnic in the gardens. A fantastic view of the Tasman bridge, the Japanese garden is a must visit such a pretty setting. Be sure to allow 2-3 hours to enjoy and not rush through.

Exceptionally well designed.

The map is very helpful.

A very helpful volunteer , Jennifer, came to explain the garden and different sections while we were trying to figure out. How kind!

Beautiful pockets and a pop up cafe... A good half day can be spent...

I had a best time wandering around the gardens when we visited last year. You can just enjoy your down time with this peaceful serenity, listening to chirping birds, and if you are lucky, greeting hellos to a family of ducks! Everyone can find their own favorite spot in the garden.

Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens Review

No entry tickets here as this is a public area and has ample parking space.

I recently visited the Botanical Gardens (RTBG) in Hobart, and must say, it was a pleasure. As a nature enthusiast or an gardening aficionado, one would be thoroughly impressed by the beauty, diversity, and tranquility of these magnificent gardens.

The gardens boasts of an impressive collection of plants from around the world. The gardens are meticulously maintained, with vibrant flowers, lush greenery, and scenic water features. The gardens are divided into various themes, such as the Rock Garden, Japanese park etc each offering a unique experience.

The gardens offer a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of city life, perfect for relaxation and contemplation.

If visiting on bright day one can pack a picnic lunch and enjoy it in the gardens, which offer plenty of scenic spots. There’s also a cafe selling tea, coffee and snacks for a quick bite.

Lovely collections to buy souvenir from a a in-house shop.

If you're looking for a unique and enriching experience in Hobart, look no further than the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens. Whether you're a nature enthusiast, a gardening aficionado, or simply seeking a peaceful escape, the RTBG is an absolute must-visit destination.

Beautiful Beautiful place. Very well maintained and the map is clear and reliable. So many Beautiful flowers, trees, and plants. It's a great place for some relaxation, a picnic, a date, or just hanging out. The entry is free, can you believe it? Absolutely gorgeous. My only concern with this place is it's not in Brisbane where I live.
