Great range, well organised. Friendly and knowledgeable staff, great spot to explore for all your Australian native garden needs.

Went to the Belair national park nursery to find some ground covers. Emailed them a few days before going as we had a long list. They responded with what they had available so we knew what to look for. Gorgeous grounds, easy parking and friendly staff willing to help.

Potential to be amazing but our experience was very poor...
1. Plants in the ground covers were poor quality as they have been severely heat effected but not attended to... 2. Range was not great... better and in better condition at bunnings 3. Staff could not be bothered even to say hello or pretent to like their job. 4. Because of this, they were unapproachable to ask questions of. 5. It was expensive, with no price tags around, 6 plants, of which 2 were seedlings, $104...
So disappointing... i had never been to the state flora nursery but thought what better place to go. So We travelled the 43km to visit as I want to plant a colourful native garden in my newly landscaped front yard... but it was so disappointing, and then I went to bunnings 10 minutes from home to ask my question... never again....

Good nursery where I can get provenanced revegetation species for acreages, but for feature/specimen native plants I find that Bunnings has a better selection. With regards to the non-botanical side of the business, such as the knick-knackery of the shop, State Flora was once under PIRSA, and ensured that local SA artisans were the major suppliers, instead of the imported tat they now display. The book selection is still good though. I can't speak for weekday staff at this nursery, but I have found weekend staff are rather arrogant and insensitive with customers. I get the impression they just don't want to be there.
