Austplant Nursery & Gardens

I rang yesterday from Tasmania to ask if you had a Backhousia Citriodora and when told yes, I then asked how I would go about getting it to my 93 year old uncle who lives in a retirement village in Capel Sound. My uncle and his wife, who passed away a few years ago, bought a plant together and he told me it was on its way out and he wished he could get another one. I decided I would get him another one and was prepared to pay a delivery fee to get it to him.

The lovely young lady that I spoke to, I didn’t catch her name, said you usually had a delivery fee of $75.00 but on this occasion she would make it $10.00 and could drop the plant off on her way home; I could not believe it. I am very grateful for her kindness and generosity. This sort of thing seems to have disappeared from most businesses these days.

As promised the plant was dropped off to my uncle last night and he is thrilled. His son sent me a picture of my uncle with the plant and it is a beautiful large plant.

I won’t hesitate to recommend your business to anyone I know; but I do know this delivery fee was a one off. I wish I lived nearby.

The most beautiful nursery I have ever been to. Even more beautiful than the national park nearby. I love walking through the display garden and watching the birds. Although small, Austplant has the most exquisite and broad collection of Australian natives of any nursery. I always find a new plant to fall in love with. It’s quite a special place. The people who keep it going are so friendly and helpful and just lovely to chat to.

Great selection and service. One of the best native nurseries for sure. Pretty easy to identify what will work in your own garden with their addition markings on the usual plant tags. A tube stock range would be a great addition (maybe I’ve missed them?). Worth a drive. Go on the cable car close by and make a day of it.

Great long established nursery with best variety of native plants on the peninsula I think. So helpful with staff always happy to listen to your garden goals and recommend the perfect plant. I always go here for my garden.
