Iβve come to Far West over a dozen times this past year, and usually every experience I have, is quite pleasant. However last week, my friend and I showed up at 4:38 (22 mins before closing) and were basically greeted with βhurry up itβs gonna get dark soonβ.
We were there less than 10 minutes, and the entire time we were attempting to look around we could feel our presence was not wanted. They were hovering over my friend and I in what felt like attempts to rush us along. We left at 4:46, and they rushed to lock the gate up after us. If you want to close at 4:30, change your business hours to 4:30. Itβs a bummer, had I actually been able to enjoy my visit, I likely would have left with double what I had on the cart.

I've been making a point to shop there first for several years. While it doesn't provide the selection of big box stores, the service is superb. The folks there happily answer all my gardening questions competently and offer suggestions when asked.

I absolutely love this nursery! The selection of plants is amazing and the staff is so kind and helpful. A special thank you to Gretchen for sharing her knowledge and helping me choose plants for my dad's garden.

We have loved Far West for many years. Definitely check them out! Helpful employees, healthy plants. Since the pandemic they have a much reduced stock of plants. Not sure if that is the reason, or just slow business. They have rented part of their property for trailer storage. Sort of sad to see. But they must have a reason.
